Good Idea...But Mine Won't Be Here
Hey, it's me again. I've been planning to write exactly the same sort of long summation of everything that happened at CTY this year for a while now as you just did, and I've thought about it since maybe the second week. For that reason, I took little notes in my notebook, to the bemusement of my friends. At any rate, though, I'm not going to put that post here, for two reasons: one, I didn't hang out with the class as much as I could have and so most of the in-jokes I'll reference are outside of class. And two, Dissent itself, although interesting, won't get much mention in the post because I'm focusing on the other side of CTY--traditions, in-jokes, that sort of stuff--first. I'll probably write a Dissent-specific post later on, but for now, go on my blog and see my soon-to-be-written major-tastic post about CTY. (By the way, your post was awesome.)

this is me writing down everything i can remember about CTY'07:
i know that in a year or so, i won't remember a lot about this year except the basics, and i want to be able to remember more, so i'm scribbling down all cohesive memories about this year. its really disjointed and messy but i hope it kind of helps in a year from now. i'm barely a quarter the way done, i have a lot i want to write still, but at least this i should get down:
Dissent taught by Betty, TA is Colin. Betty's laugh was terrifying and Colin was amazing and he had a classic announcer voice. When he talked, I thought I was going to win a million bucks. Colin taught a grand total of twice, once being when he imitated Rosie the Riveter and said "We Can Do It!!", flexing his barely-existent arm muscle. Betty constantly said "in the interest of time" and I started recording it. Chris continued whatever he did last year and counted the number of pen drops. Miranda's sneezes were earth-shattering and I started to record those too.
For ice-breakers in our class, first we filled out a sheet of paper with our favorites (animals/music/movies/cartoon characters/books/etc.), then we took Skittles out of a bag, and for each Skittle we took we had to give 1 interesting fact about ourself. I don't like Skittles, so I didn't take any, but Sarah (and/or Cara) took like 20+ and had to talk all this random shit about themselves. Chris took a ton, but Sylvia yelled at him for eating them hahaha. Julia had major issues keeping her Skittles on her binder, and they kept falling on the ground so she didn't eat any of them.
Inter-hall ice-breakers were amazing. We did the circle thing, where 1 person on the inside says something about themselves and everyone that it applies to runs around to another part of the circle. The one thing no one let me forget was the 1 time I was in the circle, it was right after I had collided with someone for a spot and I (being the warm kind-hearted person that I am *cough*) went to the middle of the circle, brushing off grass. I say that I am klutz, and all these people run around, and me and Brenda run for the same spot, crash, and fall to the ground. I remember Julia & Beth kept getting stuck in the middle...
And then I think the next day we did this thing where my hall, Dana's hall, and (maybe) another hall got names and stuff stuck to our backs, and we have to ask yes & no questions about it to other people to figure out what/who we are. Then, we had to find someone who matched with us. I was Hermione, and Jenny, my roommate, was Ron.
Class was interesting. Not really though. It could have been more interesting. Seating arrangement from left to right: Miranda, me, Chris, Paul, Kat, Julia, Fiona, Sarah, Cara, and Sylvia. Miranda, Chris, and I would fuck around a lottttt and I was always the one that got caught. Chris & I and sometimes Miranda passed a ton of notes and we really sucked at it, and Betty definitely knew...Julia was in the bathroom and she says to Miranda how much Chris & I suck at passing notes, and Betty happened to be right behind and Julia didn't notice...but we still didn't get in trouble.
What else...the schedule. The dances were Space Jam, CTY Kiki, then Black & White. The weekend activities were Casino Night (day activity was a world culture day), and then CTY Xtreme Sports. The official sleepover was allowed Saturday night (like anyone cared...). Then next weekend was Fun In The Sun (night was talent show), then Miranda's b'day/Dance Party (whatever that was). We danced to I Will Survive. Chris' hall did their whole "This Is Why I'm Hot" thing.
Space Jam, as a dance, sucked, the music was bad and they skipped like half the canons, but CTY Kiki was a lot of fun...Chris and Isaiah did this weird-ass thing to This Is Why I'm Hot and it was fucking hilarious. They were on drugs that night, it was ah-fucking-mazing.
The first week....Jenny was still there (not dead yet) and Miranda hadn't hurt her leg yet. Saturday morning Jenny left for a tennis tournament, and Sunday Miranda hurt her leg by falling over Kat.
I'lll edit this later. I know how much I'm missing and that I'm stopping rather awkwardly, but I'm too tired to type any more right now. Once I'm done, I'll tell you.
Miss you all. So fucking much. (Sofa King Good :])
We need to meet in New Haven dude.

Confusing....
So, I just used the name Ray cause that's my nickname... but this is Miranda if you didn't get that...
Hi, I'm "aguynamedrourke"
Thanks for inviting me, Ray. This looks awesome.
You know me, guys. I don't have to say who I am. So...just saying that I signed up, and hello, and I'm so glad to be back on my computer. Oh, and *email me* please as much as possible. Thanks!

It's Up!
Heyall, so this is the blog that I came up with after trying to find a name that was available. So I was wondering whether we were gonna keep this blog to our class only, that's what my class did last year, and Geeta wants too. I don't really care so whichever. But lets try and make sure everyone gets an account for here!
Oh, and I'm still wearing my lanyards :P
